For IT2001 ( Absences) we had a business request for Read access to certain subtypes on this infotye and update access to all other subtypes on this infotype. This has been achieved but I have a query over the read only access.
Users are trained to use the overview first to check the absences already recorded, then from this screen click on the create button to enter a sickness absence, select the subtype from the list ( read only one) this takes the user to the input screen, a user can input details, for the read only sub type, save, then at this point, on save, they get the message they are not authorised for It2001, subtype 2000.
It would be ideal if the auth message came as soon as the user has selcted the read only subtype anyone know if this is possible.
N.B if the user goes straight into create, choose the Infotpe then the read only sub type it fails at this point, as expected, its only when the overview is accesed first the follow on actions look like a read only subtype could be updated ( but fails after input)
